Access Framingham Honored with Multiple 2025 Hometown Media Awards

Framingham, MA — June 24, 2025 — Access Framingham proudly announces it has received three 2025 Hometown Media Awards from the Alliance for Community Media Foundation. These prestigious awards celebrate excellence in community media, recognizing local cable programs distributed on Public, Educational, and Governmental (PEG) access channels. Proceeds from the awards program support the ACM Foundation's mission to facilitate, preserve, and promote education in community media.

Access Framingham's award-winning entries underscore the organization's dedication to high-quality community media. The awards specifically recognized productions demonstrating creativity, technical quality, and significant local impact.

Access Framingham earned the award in the News Access Center Professional category for "The Frame", a program highlighting local stories expertly produced by Brendan Fitzpatrick, Mackenzie Wright, Lilja Cormack, and Luciane Horcel.

"I'm honored and humbled to be a part of an award-winning organization," said Brendan Fitzpatrick, News Supervisor at Access Framingham. "This local news initiative is something we take great pride in. It’s a team effort, and I'm thankful that I'm part of a team that understands the importance of local journalism."

The organization also received the Overall Excellence award in P.E.G. Access for organizations with budgets between $650,000 and $1,000,000. This was awarded for its "2024 Year in Review" program, which effectively showcased the station’s achievements and commitment to engaging, serving, and enriching the Framingham community.

Furthermore, in collaboration with FECTV, Access Framingham celebrated a win in the Educational Profile Student category for the project “Meet Nala: Everyone’s Favorite Flyer”. This compelling student-produced feature highlights Nala, a beloved service dog whose presence brings comfort and fosters unity among teachers, students, and staff at Framingham High School through her unwavering companionship and gentle spirit.

Each year, the Hometown Media Awards receive nearly one thousand entries, which are evaluated by a panel of over 150 industry judges. Awards are presented to the most creative programs that effectively address community needs, foster diverse community involvement, challenge conventional commercial television formats, and inspire viewers.

"The Hometown Media Awards celebrate both the excellence of work and the diversity of media that appears on community channels being produced around the country. The ACM Foundation is proud of their achievement and of how they represent their communities in their work,” said Mike Wassenaar, President & CEO, Alliance for Community Media.
